To those working on the NGEMR Go live project at TTSH. Good luck!
From someone who worked 12 hours for 8 days straight during the NGEMR project at NUHS a few months back

Someone still surviving in IHIS, after reading what were mentioned in here, I have to agreed that 80-90% are true. The bonus and annual leave in here are really good. Maybe that the only reason for most to join or stay.

The process in here are really too complex and messy, too many layers of approvals doesn’t really mean it will make the IT environment more secure..for some reasons, at the working level it give a perspective that ppls in here have not walked out from the shadows of 2018 incidents. where various departments/entities tends to deflect or redirect risks and responsibilities. Some how, it created more approvals processes over the years…

Centre new initiatives are good where it there to provide centre services for various clusters, but the implementation of solution/system/process always seem to be in a half half manner distribution. Cluster take half, centre take half, this team take half, that team take half… (一人一半,感情不会散??)… it just make people more confuses, who to look for and where to look? Isn’t this under your team? How come I need to look for other team for this task, but for other requirements I have to look come back to this team??

The turnaround rate in here are really scary, never in my career have seem such turnover rate… ohh he/she leaved? Ok.. whaa whole team leaved… eventually everyone in here seems to become so used to it…

Anyone who’s interested in joining, would advised you, make sure you have clear your doubts or questions with the hiring manager or HR, I have seem and heard new joiners saying how come I feel like I got scam in here.. if the benefit here it what motivated you, just sign it up.. and welcome you to the big family. (Make sure you bring your own diving gears)

Burnout lor, worked 1 year as FA so far, gt crapload of KPI tracker stuffs and admin things like smlj audit to do, also gt the occasional patch/maintenace for systems, at least 1-2 times a mth burn weekend nights. Apply any patch also need go through 5 layers of approvals lol. Users at hospital will also haunt you whenever gt issues, still need to beg vendor to troubleshoot while u try to sniff out their bs sometimes.

The tasks neverending one, but i refuse to blindly OT lol, 6pm usually just log off, at most 7pm. Not paid high enough for this crap

I lol at the 5 layers of approvals. This is so true. 80% of the time is working on administrative stuff and 20% is on technical stuff.

For an advice to those who are thinking to join here:

Most of the comments are true, not wrong. The project team that you will be attach really depends on the workload as well. But to add on, even if the team your in is not really having much problems, is more of the long term effects like day to day activities are repetitive and many others. If there is training that involves $, it wont be immediately approved as well and wont much be utilizing it either, more for knowledge. The only good thing is the PB (Performance Bonus). The salary wise, can only say its not very attractive as shared on the thread here, no matter how you want to bargain, its not worth it.

As mention by someone below on 30-7-2022 message, one have to really consider whether u want organization that do yearly changes that adds more process and complexity to your job, doing more administrative IT works, layers of approval for one request, keeping up with KPI and many others.

In general, to fresh graduates who wants to come in or others, please rethink and read through the thread on feedbacks here. To add, its a guaranteed thing that you have to be on standby 24/7 regardless due to its industry that they are supporting.
