To verify, that should be true

I am a recent grad of UOW too.

My peers are earning 2.8k to 4k as fresh grads. Am earning within that range for first job too.

But sad to say if take UOW better be aiming an IT job role and not just for a cert. Cause I didn't get any interviews for the finance sector.

It's like asking why do you want to earn low salary as an IT guys in a SME when you can earn better money in the banks also doing IT?

hi, its me.

Cause I started working in the IT sector for close to a year since my graduation. I don't feel under qualified. I have certifications as a professional for programming and stuff like that. I do learn and make the best use of myself at work.

BUT I do read up and feel that in 10 years time, this will not be the industry that I want to fight for survival in. Passion, yes, but future, not so.

I do not say that my job sucks or whatever. I enjoy doing what I do at the moment. But this is when reality hits me. i'm not young anymore, if i don't make the jump i might find a comfort zone and perhaps never. i'm 24 by the way.

Hope you understand where i'm coming from. I believe everyone here has a different calling in life. cheers and all the best people!!

Maybe thats what most people feel. But if i don't pick up myself now then it will be hard to plan for family nxt time as well as retirement and the other hidden costs that life brings along.

i assume i will retire at 62 like most people. have wasted 2 years of my life in NS. so only 38 golden years to earn and learn in this world.

To SIM people. don't lose hope. you are no less than local grads if you work hard and take opportunities in life! cheers and all the best to everyone!

most likely. At 24 most local uni guys are still doing their final year or just graduated only. This chap presumably already has 1yr experience beforehand while studying.
