How much do HODs do? Much more.
You can only compare apple to apple... not orange to apple.... School leaders have heavy administrative works... mostly vetting through content and leading the school strategic thrusts... more importantly, account for school decisions day in day out...

While HODs/SHs seem to have more ground works... leading and design department strategic plans... ground teachers work the most... designing and executing projects while juggling T&L....

Some teachers also feel the off-loading of 33% workload is not justifiable as they don't feel the extra admin works HODs/SHs carry allows them to shed off one teaching class...

Then HODs don't even have to take a CCA, some SHs may feel that both are doing similar admin works, why HODs can go to the extent to shed off one CCA...

Think of the broad picture... all in all... it's all about accountability.... as SLs, you need to be liable for the whole school and appreciate the depth of works each department run... be it IP or non-IP... from science laboratory practices to mtl in-lieu and to RAMs procedures in OBS.... it could be much easier if SLs just blindly approve any programmes/processes but all it takes is one mis-handling and everything will fall apart..

Statements like these are toxic and unhelpful. Teaching is a calling but it is also a job.

we can only guess...these are just assumptions hmmm

Precisely.
While we don't work solely for $, we do have bills to pay for & family to support.
We do want recognition. Words, monetary, awards, etc.

Just to share my strategy of having higher pay: teach tuition lol.

I tell my RO to give me a slack CCA like Green Club, and a low-profile committee like library and media resources. I get C every year BUT I earn an extra $1.2K in cash every month from giving 2-3 students private tuition.

I was wondering if the recent promotions is a normal protocol or is it the school is finally recognising me? Or is it actually too slow?
Quite good already. With just diploma and you go to other parts of civil service or private sector, you won't be commanding equivalent pay - I guess you probably have close to $4k now? Diploma holders cannot ultimately compare with degree holders in MOE, but should rate themselves with their counterparts elsewhere.

Pro-rated or the amount is after CPF?

For annual increment, the increase in amount after CPF may be less than 100, depending on your performance grade?
