You won't boost your TC from 87k to 100k within 2 years. To do so, assuming a 16-month package (1.0 AVC, 1.0 AWS, 2.0 PB), you'll need to increase your gross monthly by at least $800 in two cycles, which is impossible unless you get promoted twice consecutively.

Not real official implication, just that your superiors (SLs, RO) would know about your interest in exploring other paths.
Whether there are any other implications or not would really depend on various factors. I've observed under-performers quietly applying out (and failing), and a star performer who'd sounded out the RO and SL when applying out (and also failing). In both cases, nothing much really changed for them in school - but I can imagine a situation where grooming for a potential KP could be reallocated elsewhere once it's known the officer is hoping to leave.
Whatever the case, I think it's probably best managed with good EQ. Don't burn bridges.

And then get their geo3 1 year after pgde, by then they would be 28 years old.
To hit geo5 by 30, means need to promote every year, which is also unlikely.
AND even with rocket-speed promotion, without time to build up pay via annual increments, it just means that the person is earning around the bottom of the pay bracket for that paygrade. Which at geo5, isn't great enough to hit 100k.
So, most like CSB.

My guess here is that you are one of the lucky batches to receive the benefits of...
Twice the adjustment amount when you were still GEO3
Getting promoted this year where the promotion and merit increments returned to almost normal
Receiving a higher than average PB this year
Not everyone has the same luck as you. Pity those promoted to GEO4 between 2020 - 2022.

Wah so good. I was shafted for merit increments due to covid (A grade +$178 only), and was promoted to GEO4 in 2022. My 16-month package is 94k only. 32M with NS and masters (hence started 1 year late compared to peers).

Have you considered how things like FLP allowance and/or KP responsibility allowance could kick in?
Not OP, so can’t be sure, but there’s stuff out there most won’t know about. Maybe OP got ‘em placed on them?

the political and unofficial types of implications are simple to imagine, especially if some people with authority in your school are sensitive or hard to work with.
if they know u wanna leave, do you think good work opportunities will still go to u? do u think higher appointments will still be reserved for u? do u think they will still have the impression that u will work hard in the current school? do u think u will still have as many people speaking for u during ranking?
just some thoughts for u
if your answers are yes to all of the above, u dont have anything to worry about i guess?

Cannot such things to the younger generation. Later get accused of being out of touch and don't understand the challenges they face. When in fact, they need to see that they have lots of things to improve on and may not be as amazing as they think they are.
