This feels really strange...does everyone who comes in here think that all posters here are teachers? And hence, judge ALL teachers as such?

If there's really something to debate about, whether you're a teacher or non-teacher, do it through the proper channels leh. Send letter to MP? Raise it during Minister dialogue?
