Its entertaining, hope these trolls don't stop. I always get a good laugh 😂
based on the (weak) logical thinking process displayed, most likely a student, or a parent who’s not well-informed.

to me both are a reflection and outcome of our ‘rat race’ education system. they probably find it hard to keep up in pace with the rest, hence this whole spree of disparaging remarks.

if you’re reading this reply, i would like to assure you that we teachers are aware of this ‘unintended’ outcome, and is trying our best to be more inclusive and less-grade centric. i’m sorry if any of my teaching colleagues projected a contrasting stand. please give us time to re-shape the education landscape to one that is more ‘respectful’ and empathetic of differing pace. take card

Does teacher earns more these days? Overheard a VP talking at the Rolex AD, he seems to be able to get a new piece every month.

I know you mean well, but as a teacher, your comment rubs me the wrong way. I do right by my stakeholders: students, parents, society. If I have done wrong, I own up and work to make it right by my stakeholders. I don’t need anyone apologising for me nor sniping from the sidelines.

The slew of critical comments have a weak basis in fact. Someone angry with teachers is spending their time googling nonsense like “teacher sex crime” to feed their biases. Minimal quantitative reasoning, fallacies like selection bias, incoherent, in other words a troll. Microsoft Copilot could do better. The problems being raised are illogical and should be dismissed out of hand, not pampered with platitudes like “give us time”. If and when angry troll comes up with valid and evidence-based criticism of the profession, then we can refer them to the HQ Comms team for a follow up on the feedback. So, please don’t apologise on my behalf (who are you to do so?) and please stop feeding the troll.

A teacher earns alot less compared to others. Recently, there was a mothership.sg article that states that the fresh grad salary can command 6k if they are in the IT sector. Some as high as $7.5 as a fresh grad.

A VP is earning around $10-12k.

From MOE website, VPA (Admin) starting salary is.

Salary and Benefits
Your starting salary will range from $8,500 to $9,500.

This is meant for private sector who is coming into MOE. This is not EO VP

This kind must report. Can you disclose the Rolex shop and which school the VP from? Misappropriate public tax money for his monthly Rolex, earn too much must cut the pay. Teach the wrong message to young ones to be materialistic.
