Startup not exactly that bad... Especially when the boss has no options to choose who is better... End up u rise up pretty fast but at the end of the day, compared to MNC, you probably hit the sme cap pretty soon too..

Once there there is nothing else to look forward to. Speaking from my own experience.

Not sure of MNC is better cos I am not there yet... Hoping to make the switch cos afraid sme cannot survive in the long run..

Unfortunately, my SME involvement is already 1.5 years (out of total 6.5 years working career) and counting. Before that worked at A-STAR, not industry. So I guess am totally damaged good in the eyes of MNCs?
I would imagine it will take some time to adapt crossing over from sme to MNCbut to say damaged goods ?
Is it that extreme? Interview also got no chance?

Any hr professionals from mnc would like to comment what is the perception when they come across a sme candidate?
No room for consideration??

The problem is every SME candidate claim he is willing to learn, easy to adapt & things like that. Who would want to take the risk and spend the first 6 mths doing your shiit while you are "adapting"?

SME jump to MNC very rare base on observation. Maybe those freshies who are only in SME in their first job for <2 years still got hope.

Mid career SME if can get offer from MNC just treat it like winning 4D and sieze the opportunity loh!

im working in a sme while my classmate is working in an mnc. both of us have been working in the same company since we graduated.

my salary: 2500 > 3000 > 3500 > 3800 > 5000 > 6500 > 6900

his salary: 2800 > 3000 > 3200 > 3500 > 4500 > 4800 > 5000

Our bonus are 2-3 months every year.
Similar scope of work.
Same number of hours each day though he works OT (can claim time off)

BUT his benefits are way better than mine.

1) some technology welfare which allows him to buy/claim technology products up to 2k
2) medical/dental expenses up to 3k a year
3) company paid full body check-up every year
4) claimable personal travel expenses up to $1000 every year
5) annual leave started from 18 days and is 21 days currently

Mine only medical/dental claims up to $500 a year. My annual leave started from 7 days to 14 days currently.

that's about it.

i forgot to mention i had promotion consecutively which saw my salary jumped by 1200 and 1500. I report to the big boss directly now and make major decisions for the company, including signing of contracts.
