Either way its quite bad. Usually reach AM level at 4 to 5 year mark, then manager at around 6 to 7.
In a local bank, you would already be at AVP to VP level drawing near 10k salary alr.

4-5 years to reach manager in big4, depending on which dept. Meanwhile VP in BB back office takes 8-10 years. You are not making a fair comparison. 5 years probably is an associate in BB and 6-8k sounds about right not too far off.

4-5 years reach manager in Big 4? Is that the average?
Average to reach VP in BB is around 8-9 years so you’re right on that.

Not true. 4 to 5 years to reach AM. (Assoc > Senior Assoc > AM), 1 to 2 years between each. Around 7 to 8 years to be manager.
VP salary in local banks is 10k+ for BO, manager salary is not even 70% of that LOL.

1 year experience - A1 to A2
2 years experience - A2 to SA1
3 years experience - SA1 to SA2
4 years experience - SA2 to AM (M directly for some non-audit departments)
5 years experience - AM to M
so where did your 7-8 years come from, care to explain? unless your sources are severe underperformers?
which local bank is that? i know that junior VPs in BBs back offices are earning 10k base, which is granted given the additional years of experience relative to a big 4 manager.

VP in BB BO starts upwards of 11-12k btw and fastest reach this in 6-7 years.
Not the Op but have friends who worked for 6-7 years to make M in B4 (that’s average apparently).

Salty graduate who entered big 4. LOL.
1 promotion every year, you wish! Just look at your audit managers in big 4 on linkedin, and on average they get promoted to M level at the 7 year mark
