Default Job and Salary Check

I am 24 yr old and graduated with a UniSIM Degree with no hons but good GPA (4/5). My certifications are as follows:
- Blue Coat Certified ProxySG Administrator
- F5 Product Consultant Certificate
- Redhat Certified System Administrator
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

So far the kind of job that I suit is Network Administrator. I do not have any relevant working experience since I just graduated. Is there any other job that I can consider getting into? Also, what is the average salary that I should be drawing base on my skills set?

You should have accumulate certain amount of work experience while completing your UniSIM degree. You work experience has no link with your degree and you intend to switch field? I ask because usually the graduates would work around fields they have already accumulated experienced...

I didn't switch field because I was in Army when studying my degree course. Army experience from what I know is usually not counted as relevant experience. From my poly to uni, I have been taking IT related courses. Please don't ask why I join the army in the first place because it's a long story.. I just need to know how to start off like any uni grads from NTU, NUS...etc.

I have come to realize that in this era, it has become next to impossible to switch fields. Just look at the JDs churned out by companies and recruiters. They are looking for something so specific that it totally limits the possibility of someone with a different set of expertise, but with transferrable skill sets to switch jobs.

It takes time to understand the job market and to realize your full potential or wants...

So my suggestion is looking at your qualification, many local system integration company should be able to offer you a position. In fact, it is a good learning point in your field to gain experience.

Once ur armed with 2-3 years experience, you should know already where you want to go and what you want to do.

hi bro just sharing my thoughts.

since u're in the army, can find network admin jobs related to military such as dsta or even ST electronics.

if u decide to switch industry, can try to submit your resume to job agencies. they can help u find companies whom r willing to employ fresh graduates or no experience. starting pay low never mind, once u gained experience just jump and your pay will jump.

do not be motivated by pay alone. just enjoy what you wish to do, excel, and you will get rewarded.
