I'm 99% sure you are not the same person. The 5.5k is true, I got a friend from SIT who got it.
So that original FAANG guy saying 5.5k is right. Also why the hell would you read some rubbish website noobflair or whatever, where is their proof that the 5k SEED is fixed?

Hi, I'm the same guy. I said 5.5k at first coz I vaguely remembered it was as such. But I did have a SEED offer last year that I rejected, and I know it was 5k. I thought my memory didn't serve me well so I didn't bother fact checking. Turns out I was correct all along lol

Alternatives wise, DBS SEED is 5.5k off the bat, but note it's not a permanent position. IME, focus on getting the right skills, have a plan where you want to go, and never stop upskilling. I made the poor choice of not selecting CS for my undergrad (I thought it was a passing fad), but I'm sure you will find your path.
It's true that nobody really cares about the FCH, but you need to tell yourself that it is a testament to your ability to learn, which is most important in your future growth.

isn't dbs seed 5k fixed?
where did you hear "5.5k right off the bat"?
yeah no one cares about FCH because its not an indication of anything at all. it just means you grinded books and spent your uni semesters studying all day everyday. you can say that you're gifted / talented / high IQ and u didnt spend much time studying but it still doesn't change the fact that no one can verify your claim. it might be some indication of someone who is willing to work hard but im not sure if companies really care.

5.5k is what is reported on the other thread in this forum. I know for sure it was 5k last year, and given the heated tech market I'm not surprised it increased slightly. This has also been corroborated by others who know people who were recently offered.
Also, on IQ, I'd argue otherwise. It does take a certain level of intelligence to get an FCH (at least in STEM). Unfortunately, the stuff that makes you big bucks (outside of tech) is generally soft skills and the ability to suck up to bosses.

yea i believe its 5k because i got a friend who got offered last year.
i feel like the 5.5k is a lie, only proof i see are anonymous people in the DBS SEED thread saying its 5.5k and later on, other people said that they were lying. so im not sure... i checked glassdoor and 5k seems to be correct.
but who knows, maybe after negotiating its 5.5k...
