It is not. But the poly pay scale is limited...

To me, 6+K/mth sounds great! How many years of working experience do you have?
I also have a PhD degree. I am going to have an interview at a Poly. I have a few years of working experience. How much do you think I can expect?
Thanks for your advice in advance...

i hear a lot of people talking about pax 4 here but how about pax 5 or pax 6? Is it pegged to working experience? Can someone share how you're allocated to the scales?

It depends on your last drawn pay and how much they need you. And I've about 10 years of industrial experience before joining the poly.

Yes, you can do it by email, but it's technically not a rejection of the offer, rather you are emailing to rescind your acceptance of the job offer. Depending on your industry, there may be some consequences to this action. If your industry is small and everyone knows everyone, then the word goes around that you may be playing the "HR game"...

hi everyone. I, too am invited for an interview with a poly north of singapore. I was wondering how the interview will be like?
and what sort of questions will be asked. I have a general degree with 8 years of wide industry experience. What can i expect?
Hope to get some advise from peers who are still teaching in poly, on salary expectation, life-work balance expectations etc

I've been through a poly interview, went through to the second round, but did not get the job. Usually they will ask those very general HR-type questions, e.g. tell me about yourself, why teach at a poly, why the change of career, etc, etc. And they will tell you about the job scope, what to expect, etc, etc. They asked only a few technical and knowledge questions.

am a relatively new lecturer on ax5a scale. just got graded C - can someone / old bird share, what is the expected PB? 1.5 months? am bit disappointed as put in quite a lot of effort, maybe the best grade for newcomer is C? This is my first full year performance review. Thanks in advance.

C is underperformer. Kena once or twice is still ok, but if consecutively 3-4 times then you can forget about contract renewal once your 4/5 years is up.
