It’s a place to cruise your way till retirement. Of cuz, it can’t beat the glitz and glam of a front office chad working in BB but the job security and work life balance of the CS is unparalleled.
if you don't aspire to be a multimillionaire CS is good enough.

very comfortable life, can afford a car and a small landed property. already better than at least 70% of singaporeans

What scheme are you on? How old are you? Which field (eg
Social/defence/economic) does your agency belong to?

Is the yearly increment for CS standardized and is there any major increments?

This is for the past when a HDB flat cost $30k and a landed cost $150k. Back then many teachers and civil servants bought small landed houses, usually terraces. A young civil servant joining today would have done extremely well for himself if he managed to buy a condo. Most buy HDB flats I believe.

A sub-entry level car like a perodua bezza or mutsubishi attrage is probably possible too but not very comfortably.

Nope, disagree. I've witnessed cases where employees are fired or asked to leave due to performance. Although most of the times they voluntarily leave first before being forced to leave.
