Pray tell how you got annual package when your bonuses are variable according to the market? Did you simply multiply your monthly by 16 or 17? I’d hate to break it to you but count yourself lucky if you get more than 13 this month.

Also we’re talking about basic salaries which shouldnt include the bonus.

The most accurate thus far:

ESG:3.8k - 4k (with NS)
MAS:3.8k (with NS)
EDB:3.6-3.8k (with NS)

Also to add, no offer letter has the entire annual package. They just give a monthly sum.

Still doesn't answer the question. I’ve never seen an offer letter from the public service, which included a guaranteed annual package. The only provide a monthly salary. So please enlighten me, how would you know the total annual package is exactly 61k this year?

By the way, if you take 3.8k * 16, thats $60.8k. So basically i’m right am I not? You’re assuming that there’s 4 months bonus in addition to a 3.8k basic.

Thanks for doing the math! The monthly salaries you stated are on par with what I have heard from friends who got offers from MAS and EDB.

Agree that it is impossible to know full annual package as a fresh grad.

Yep...just dont be hoodwinked by promises of annual packages. In the last year, i think the PS annual package has been more like 13.5 months...rather than 16. I’d like it to be the latter, but I don’t want anyone to be misled.

to all fresh grad, dont ever think govt sector pay high.. its average..

the HR like to explain their package as annual because that how govt keep people stay.. they like to say 16 - 17 month but contract never state which mean it is not guarantee..

always rmb monthly basic is guarantee.. bonus is not guarantee..

always choose a job that give high basic than high bonus...

with high basic, when you change job you have high bargain power...
