Yes companies will always ask for your last drawn. If you start off on a low salary (e.g. traineeship) you run the risk of drawing a persistently lower salary that is pegged to what you last earned rather than your value/industry norm.
Dont listen to the news recently that says companies shouldn't ask for last drawn. You are a job applicant and will more often than not have lower bargaining power. If you dont provide last drawn, the company will simply move on to the next applicant that provides such info.
Sucks to graduate in a recession.

I had quite a number of friends who had their internship offers rescinded.... we live in incredible times. Initially it was pretty difficult for me to get one. I'm thankful that I was one of the few that clinched an internship and it was thanks to these guys (matchub.co) that I am where I am today. I heard of it through a university friend who recommended it to me and signed up with them, never thought i could get an internship during such times. Would recommend for y'all to check it out cos it helped me clinch an internship position. I'm gna share the link w y'all: (matchub.co/index.php/register/) Hope this helps for anyone that is looking for an internship!

And health issues are just things we cannot control. So believe me when we do conquer them, we can definitely overcome anything else that comes our way too.
Jiayou, take one thing at a time, and all the best.

All chronic one. Got back problems, mental problems, and just added an autoimmune disease to my collection.
All of which makes me feel physically tired a lot of the time. It will also take a long time to pass the halfway mark on the road to recovery.
How do you cope with that, if you don't mind me asking?

Given how the stock market is roaring high, I doubt there is basis for a bad job market and the salaries are probably the same as they were before.

Because stock prices and company's free cash flow are not the same?
Maybe you can ask your company to pay you in 100% shares then.
