Well you guys are all right, I do miss out a lot, forgive my AM brain:

Redpeak, we don't encounter this name too much (I think cuz they're MM focused), I know that they pay quite ok, but honestly I don't think they are on par with Rippledot or BDA at all, so would still place them at T4

Greenhill is definitely a solid international franchise, however their local practice is very very new! Being international brand, they do win strong mandates (Tesco deal), but have heard that they're still struggling to win mandates and this is reflected in their bonus and intern (oof) pay which I heard is underwhelming. Having said this, I would still omit Greenhill in the tier list, it's still too early to tell how they will hold up in Singapore.

DBS (like any local banks), is very very hard to rank as the mandates are almost exclusively local companies and I don't think their advisory is that respected, in fact on second thought I would just remove them from the tier list

Everyone who's in the field know it's not CS' IB that is getting gutted. While rumors are circling they might want to pull back in IB (and they have slightly reduced their underwriting activities), I think their IB franchise in Singapore is still respected with no signs of headcounts reduction or shitty dealflow

CLSA/Chinese banks - Idk mate, I think chinese banks is more towards DCM stuff?
SMBC/Mizuho/MUFG - Not sure mate, I think they're also more towards financing stuff (project/acquisition financing?)
Daiwa - Honestly not sure, I don't think they do M&A at all, have never encounter the name at work tbh

Serious question, where would a mid tier accounting firm's M&A team place on the tier list? I'm assuming T3-T4?

Yea, I wouldn't even rank Big 4 M&A practice in the tier list

It's funny how people get so triggered/in-denial (eg. this CIMB spammer guy) by tier list. Like it or not tier list do exists. Heck our society wealth classes is in shape of triangle. These kind of people surely never worry about being the bottom of ranking when they were studying. Now that ranking is slowly materializing into a real thing which literally dictates where you stand in society, and only now you get so agitated.

If only life has restart button?

Don't you agree that CIMB is successful enough to buy over a building and rename it CIMB Plaza. Heck, their M&A team should all get a fat bonus this year by the datuk!

Disclaimer: I work in the field but the info collated are only based on hearsay from my friends and people in the industry cuz obviously I only work in one of the firm

T1: GS (Just for the name, dealflow not the strongest in APAC but will still dominate in terms of dollar due to major deals), JPM/MS (Solid names, solid dealflow in APAC!), CS (Solid dealflow in APAC!)
T2: BofA (Pays high!), Barclays (Good deals and SUPERB CULTURE), HSBC (Pays highest base, but bonus so-so)
T3: Citi (Good deals, but culture cmi), UBS, Nomura
T4: DB, BNP
T5: SCB
T6: Maybank, local banks, CIMB, etc.

Boutiques
T1: Evercore (Magnus Keith is the GOAT)
T2: Lazard (Good name, but only have PCA/Debt advisory in APAC I think), Rothschild (MM focused but heard they're quite solid!)
T3: Rippledot, BDA
T4: ING, all the random boutiques

ONLY MY OPINION
Thank you for sharing! Really insightful
