Goldman recently merged their FO BO MO to divisions as part of their oneGS strategy. In other words, global market ops isn't identified as ops anymore. i guess that is why people don't write ops on their linkedin. you will realise this trend only for Goldman and not the other BBs

disclaimer: i'm not from gs ops but know about this from a close friend in gs FO.

Nowadays, my mentality changed.

If people wanna feel good at linkedin, let them feel.

Why would their roles or linkedin profile matters, unless they are in an industry which I need some info. It is not like omitting ops will make me think they are one up

GS just had a salary readjustment, not just for their banking juniors, but other functions too. As a result, their BO / MO folks got a bonus of 3 - 5 months on avg this year. Their bankers and traders got on avg 1 year or more. I just left GS last year, but have friends still in there

reduce the discrimination against FO MO BO in the firm i think. in other words whether u are in sales or ops, you are in global market and you contribute to the GM business.
