Are there other better routes?
PS: I do not want to sound like I will surely get in CG, it's an "IF" question.

Best and easiest route into pte banking is to say you can bring on clients with fresh funds in excess of 10m or more

curious why you would want to go from AM back to PB. Most people do the opposite

Wtf? Most people dont leave CG unless they get fired lol. CG is the exit opp for high finance. Good luck on your interviews.

Client group is institutional distribution or either? If you get in, why don't you join the retail distribution / biz dev team for Capital Group if you are interested in private banking.

Actually, I am just exploring options. I am not very sure what it's going to be like. I don't even have a finance background (edu/professional). I am finding my way in because of personal interest and what I have taught myself over the years.
If I like it there (again don't want to sound like they will definitely offer me ahaha), and the pay is good I'll stay and this is very likely from what I have heard
and from my experience talking with the hiring manager (the culture seems to be great). It is hard to find much information on them since they only started hiring fresh grads in sg recently. Hoping to get more informed my initiation discussions with people like you and the rest here perhaps
thank you all for sharing your inputs btw!! i really appreciate it

I am not interviewing for analyst/portfolio management role which is highly paid at AMs like CG (atleast from fresh grads). It the sales/RM role. Would you still say that people from PB go to AM in this case?

Not sure about the exacts, it’s a program with 4 rotations under client group and eventually my aim would be to continue in sales/RM role. I don’t thing they have retail distribution but saw online that they do have a specific department for private client. I would have to get to know more abt it in my next interview (if it happens) and that could definitely be one place I would like to make my way to.

Yeah, the "retail" distribution channel for mosr house is basically working with PB/WM divisions for banks. Not all houses have strong mum and pop distribution. So most are focused on the institutional distribution and private banking.
Not sure if Capital has a big presence in SG previously. But if it is building up its team in SG, then it should be a very good time to be in. Growth phase has plenty of promotion opportunities for new joiners.
