As a chemical engineer in one of the biggest company in the energy sector, I would advice anybody who is considering this career path to think twice before going down this route.
Unless you are the garang type (likes to OT, not much social life), there are better financial
pursuits elsewhere in other industries. Yes, chemical engineers can pay well, but it also involves much more sweat than say the financial sector.

I would have thought that civil engineering had a higher pay..last i checked they had the highest starting pay for engineering. But from friends who are in the sector, the work is mundane and hard work. Good luck anyone who is in there.
