Building Services engineering consultants don't generally have good bonus due to market forces that pushes their fees down. In fact they don't get big bulk of fees.

If you're in the line you probably have to get urself qualified as a PE to move further to associate director otherwise it will be stagnant or you move out to client role, maintenance or contracting which will earn more.

Imo other sector related to it gives more bonuses.

Can you define 'other sector related to it' and what do you think is the future of building services

from what i see on mycareersfuture job post, the salary always come in a range of say 3.3 - 3.6k or 3.5 - 4.2k or 3.2 - 5k.

Generally will the company always offer the lowest range or will it typically be in middle of the range ?

Chemical engineer, both me and my bro.

MSD (start 2017) - got 13 month
Year 1: 3.3k
Year 2: 3.5k
Year 3: 3.7k then get promotion 4.1k
Get promoted as long as don't screw up

GSK (start 2015) - no 13th month
Year 1: 3.5k
Year 2: 3.7k
Year 3: 3.9k, normally get 1 promotion (10% increment) 4.3k
Year 4: 4.5k
Year 5: 4.7k, got another promotion (12%) 5.2k
Good performance can get promotion every 1.5 years, so in 5 years can get 3 promotions would make it 5.8k but i was not good enough.
Year 6: jump to Pfizer 6k starting

My take is it s mostly the same for same industry, the difference is not much once you consider bonuses, benefits.
