So U can only join Mohh or possibly interview for at one of the cluster polyclinic to get a job
Easy to be hired by Mohh.
But they can send U anywhere they want.
Polyclinic has been asking for manpower like no buddy business but Mohh don't sent us many
Harder to be hired by cluster polyclinic directly
Because each manpower is valuable.
They hire a dud who can't stand the pressure end up the clinic suck thumb
For fp registration in sg U need a registratable post-grad degree
Fracgp is registerable.
But U also need 3 years of relevant fp experience
Go see the accredition website what is acceptable.
Totally add up must be 3 years. Depending on your fracgp posting U might not meet 3 years if U newly minted.
Local context wise
FP is a register and hence fp is a protected tittle. Gp isnt
On the register U can provide healthier SG, Chas etc
To be on the register, lowest paper qualification is a local gdfm plus 3 years of relevant exp
M.med difference to gdfm is that if U work in public you will be on the consultant pathway while gdfm will be on the fp pathway. Salary of course will diverge but not big.
In private, no one cares.
Ur fracgp unfortunately puts U on fp pathway only.
FP -> senior fp-> principal fp.
FP starts about 150k to 160k annual. 8 K basic salary plus other variable component.
Increment bout 3 to 5 percent a year to basic
Promotion about 10 percent to basic plus increase to fp award and service. About 200k if U hit it in minimal time.
About 5 year to be senior fp
8 year to principal fp. I have a few principal fp sitting at 250 to 300k pa
Shall not mention consultant pathway since not relevant to you.

My understanding is that the ceiling of mmed is only AC. (Even though they are on consultant pathway, they can't progress beyond ac unless they have fcfp)
If principal fp can get 250-300k pa, can a mmeder ac of same seniority (i.e after 10-15 years of service) draw a higher pay? Or is the ceiling of principal fp and mmed ac ard the same eventually? (I.e to break through the 300k pa barrier need fcfp)

Process for conditional > full reg for Singaporeans who graduated from 2nd schedule unis and did PGY1 in Singapore
- Work at least 2 years with conditional reg
- Get invited to SMC Physician's Pledge ceremony and attend the ceremony - some people were invited to this in PGY3, other people only in PGY4, can't remember if anyone had to wait longer than that.
- Apply for full registration. This needs a supporting letter from HOD and CMB, which may be easy or difficult to get depending on posting.
Official information is at s://.healthprofessionals.gov.sg/ smc/becoming-a-registered-doctor/register-of-medical-practitioners/full-registration

That is quite informative thanks
Any idea if we need to do any specific postings?
Or is this really just waiting for 2 years and hoping someone signs you off
Curious I f admin posting counts if anyone can shed light.
Also what options do C-reg have can we really work with raffles and have them sign off to get full reg??
Appreciate all the help

Can.
Time is your friend
The longer you work the smaller the promotion matters

Admin postings don't count to 2 years. Smc will look thru. Even if HOD and CMB approve, SMC may reject.
You can write in once you hit requirements for pledge. Pledge is generally the limiting factor.
Once you got pledge done then is dependent upon if the Posting you're at willing to.dupport

Was not aware of that, thanks for the information above.
Any idea how long does it take to get C-reg to full if one were to go raffles?
Unsure if raffles is a place suitable as I have no career ambition to aim high and be a con, don’t mind seeing simple brainless cases. Best work for me is routine brainless work and don’t need do extra sailkang outside of my seeing patients job scope for company. After getting full reg in Singapore plan to take a break from medicine and go back overseas in future and work part time somewhere rural.
Thanks again all

Hi everyone, both myself and my wife are looking at possibility of moving from UK to Singapore. I'm completing my training in Respiratory and Internal medicine in Aug 2024, and my wife holds MRCP. Few questions please :
1. What would be the expected salary for me and my wife?
2. Any chance for my wife to have a 9-5 job in any of the hospital?
3. Is there a website for all the jobs available in any of the SMC-health institute?
Thanks in advance=)

I am not the person who started the questions, but curious about career grade MO.
How long is each call?
Could she do part-time doctoring? eg. 2- 3 days a week.

Don't think you can work part time as C-Reg. 9-5 is more like 6-6 depending on patient load, assuming she's going to work as a MO in IM.
Call starts at 5pm until 8am the next day but you've to round on your primary team patients still.Expect to go post call around 12nn.

As someone who works in the UK as a doctor, i am surprised that 6-6 for a 9-5 is the norm and legal! Calls in the UK also always overrun, but never that jialat.
