Hi, I've been in your shoes once. My take is do your due diligence, if there is a pay-out clause ask yourself if you can afford it. And if you can, go sign the contract with the consulting firm before heading down to let HR at that bank know you signed another offer. believe me they will appreciate it that you come down in person. Many times, people dont even appear on the first day.
Like everyone said, its only a contract position. you aren't some bigshot that they will care so much. After 2 years, the person handling your case will probably be gone anyway. All the best.

I don't claim to be all-knowing so correct me if I'm wrong.
If its not specifically mentioned as any clause in your contract, typically the contract itself does not come into effect until you actually step into the office and begin your first day of work as there is no actual exchange of "consideration". Ergo, there is no employment contract in place. Of course, that doesn't stop the employer from suing you on civil grounds (which i doubt they will care)
Refer to this: ://. mom.gov.sg/faq/contract-of-service/if-a-new-employee-has-signed-a-letter-of-employment-but-does-not-show-up-for-work-what-can-an-employer-do
Of course, you can still be black-listed and what not, but i doubt any legal troubles will come your way.

just checked, there is this clause: your employment will continue, subject to the remaining terms of this agreement, until it terminate on ddmmyyyy without the need for notice unless previously terminated by either party giving the other not less than 1 month notice in writing.

Of course you will be blacklisted. Some places even if you reject a job offer from them you can say good luck to joining the company in the future.

Most places when you are blacklisted you are in the system, not just in the HR's head

That sounds pretty dubious. Do you actually have any black and white offer with specific higher salary numbers? Is this a small sized boutique consultancy with 1 founder + few consultant type?
I cannot imagine any sizable company out there would make this sort of open cheque promise to a normal fresh grad. This sort of flippancy makes me wonder how much of their job description is even real in the first place.
Just be careful as your company B looks suspicious to me. From experience, I am always cautious of companies that seem to be selling themselves to me instead of the other way round. Real good companies won't do that because they don't need to.

Yea I don't buy this global market leader offering salary of "whichever figure u asked for as long as within my ability" either. Anyway TS so far doesn't sound like an experienced professional 150k "junior manager" either, so I am inclined to call BS as well. Wasted my time answering earlier...
