So I just wondering what are my chances of switching to other government jobs after I leave the force and anyone here experience such situation like me before?
I was in the background as you. I was a specialist back then and i further my studies at one of the reputable University with SIT. Afterwhich i join one of the GLC till now doing engineering. The only thing i can say that it is harder than you thought. To be pretty honest with you, even till now, with ample exposure and experience in engineering field, i still couldnt get in to govt as they only gave interview chances to local uni no matter if the applicant matches the requirements. I have seen it myself. Well, im still trying. Cross fingers.

May I know typically how long does the medical report takes to come back? I had signed the loa, however, the HR said it will be subjected to the clearance of medical check up, it has been 10 days but still no news yet.

Default It depends

The answer to the question? It varies.

In my first civil service job, the whole process (from application to offer) took about two months. Was made an offer one week after the final interview.

Left my first job a few months ago after spending two years plus of hellish working hours there, and have been taking a well deserved break. Applied for three jobs so far:

Job One (Stat board): Took them two months for them to call me for an interview. Was informed three weeks later that I didn't get the job.

Job Two (Stat board): Took them two weeks to call me for an interview. Was offered the job three weeks after the interview, but rejected the offer cause didn't really like the job scope and office location.

Job Three (Ministry): My first choice among the three I've applied thus far. Took them six weeks to call me for an interview. Went for the interview last week, now waiting to see if I got the job.

Curious, how did you answer why you left first job in the interview?

Hi, told them the truth.. I was working on average 14-16hours a day. Job was well paying, of course. But wasn't what I was looking for.

Normally what do people say for their intro? Cause I heard some introduction can go on for more than 10mins.. As a fresh grad with little experience, I'm not confident if I need to do an introduction for so long.

Hi, wondering if it is hard to get a govt job if I only have a pass with merit degree from NUS? I heard that they prefer grads that hold a honours degree.
