Thanks for your well wishes. Yes, I have fought many corporate battles for the past 30 years. I got hurt countless times, but managed to continue fighting. Now, I still can feel the deep pain, time for me to heal my soul. You are still young, fight you must but fight well and fair. Don't ever be evil, you will regret if you do evil to others. Lastly, invest in a Singapore property - it is a valuable asset which will appreciate in the long run. All the best to you, young man.

Default Balance

In my 50s and I think I have balance. I have properties worth $7.5m and investments worth $6.0325m (according to the Bloomberg app on my iPhone 20s ago) and about $400K in cash. I get about $300K/y in dividend/interest income. Not sure why I'm still working... Perhaps it's the childrens' overseas education costs of about $160k/yr or the fact that cars are now so expensive (mine is nearing 10 years old). But I'm loosening up on the savings. Recently I blew $30K on two suites class tickets on SIA for a holiday. Ouch. Also, having a investment portfolio so large, I'm a bit taken aback by the fact that my investments have fallen $600K in the last month. Ouch again. All this makes me a bit scared to retire...

Compare to a lot of oldies here I am still far away. 33 this year and manage to save up close to $2 mil from forex and CFD trading which has been earmarked to enter into a partnership to purchase a small commercial building in the suburbs with 6 other investors.

Hoping to get at least $20mil & passive income of $1m before 45 to retire.

Not loser lah. 37 still got many years to grow wealth. Assuming you and spouse started work at 25, so after working 12 yrs, you have already accumulated 900K++ plus paying up your 5 rm flat (say bought for 300K from HDB). That means on average you were able to grow your wealth by 100K pa.

Most salaried people earned their highest in their 40s to 50s. So for the next 13 yrs, assuming on average you can grow (from savings & investment) your wealth by $150k pa, when you hit 50, you would have another $1.95m to add to your hoard. Total $3.14m at 50.

Not bad....certainly not a loser.

Full time investor, 44. Family's annual income $150k per year.
Home, a fully paid condo. Owns another two cheap condos for investment.
Family's net worth only $2.3m.
We are below average compared to my group of friends.
There are many rich Singaporeans and I'm definitely not one of them.
