EDBi is a rather unique entity. Its considered semi independent of EDB and has their own salary scale.

Yes it is normal. Nowadays, many stat boards start new staff on contract first. Even for inter-agency transfers. If you are on the old leave scheme, they will give u an option to retain the current leave scheme (3 more days) or new one (21 days), but at higher salary.

2014- Pte 2.9k average
2015- Pte 3.4k above average
2016- gov 4K
2017- gov 4.29k C+
V underpaid
QUOTE=Unregistered;99569]Just to share my salary when I was in an economic SB, with 1 year working exp, 2nd upper from NUS (no NS):
2013 - $3250 (I think if fresh grad the pay is $3200)
2014 - ~$3500 (salary increment + salary adjustment)
2015 - $3650
2016 - $4040 (promoted to AM)
2017 - $4200
- Yearly increment for avg performer is ~3-4%. Base salary and increment seem very little but the bonus is quite good with C grade getting 3.5 - 4.5 months. Excluding 13th month and also a performance incentive (usually <1 month in Dec). My total annual package is about 18 months.
- If you get promoted by grade and/or title, salary jumps ~10%. If only promoted by title, only ~5-6%. So people would rather get promoted by grade and not title [/QUOTE]

Fresh grad working under a ministry right now and I happen to have friends working in the HR department and I found out that I'm underpaid by approx $200 (like I have fch but they only give 2nd upper pay) is there any way to try and get the usual fch pay? I have worked for <6 months so far.

Are your friends from HR in the same ministry as you? If Iam not mistaken, not all places pay differently for fch and second upper. They can be in the same tier under "good honours" which is why you are paid no differently from your 2nd upper peers.
