You above salary from 2.9k to 6.6k in 5 years is a result of 19% average annual increment.
Lets look at another example.
Assuming you are a high flyer scholar who make it to BG @ fcuking 35 years old.
The moment you sign on at 18 years old president scholarship, salary 4k. 35 years old get BG salary 20k.
From 4k at 18 years old to 20k at 35 years old, you need average 10% annual increment.

6k to 6.5k with 4 months bonus is 96k to 104k not 90k which is 31.5% and 42.5% pay increment respectively. Do you think is realistic?

tks for reply.
just to share, ive been in same coy for 10+ years, perennial band 3+ and once in a blue moon hit PR2 rating.
1. based on those years increments, my pay is below mkt rate
2. ive listed all the impt work, projects, achievements during my time. to buffer for 1. where they thought pr3 is what i deserved yet this kind of exposure/achievements would not be easily found in another potential pr3 candidate
3. even tho im pr3 ive promoted twice in last 5 years (im on the edge of year 6 now)
4. based on pr3 on 6k , 15.5 = 93kpa
5. asking for 6-6.5 so they try to counter wif lowest @ 6 then i can still hit my expected of low 90s
6. im 2 mths away from my VB which based on pr3 wld be 2.5. if i tender this mth, ill miss out on this + increment expected ard $2xx so my pay in 2mths time wld be 52xx
maybe im just over thinking and doing all sorts of things but anyone would exercise similar care and buffer for nego back n forth?
i never used to to do this when i was younger and really missed out heaps opportunities for decent remuneration (was drawing 1.7 in 2000, 2.5 in 2005)
appreciate your sharings too!

How old are you? How much post-degree experience do you have? This may determine whether they would offer you mx11

Hmm.. $93k at 39 yo is pretty low, but considering you only have 8 years of experience then it should be just about right.

Did you obtain your degree from one of our local universities or went overseas to study on campus? Difficult to get appointed to civil service (ministry) if you studied for a correspondence degree here. Stat boards are slightly more flexible.
As you are deemed to be from the private sector, just to also let you know that only relevant experience will be counted for increments. So whether you can get 6k depends on the specific CS job which you are applying for. If relevant, you will get 8 increments for 8 years of post-degree experience. If not, they might slash it to about 4 increments for 8 years of post-degree experience.
