anyway, does hi-po mean high potential?
No one ever told me if I am high performing, low performing or if I am even performing at all in my 2+ years here.
my "increment" in part is also due to wage adjustment to stay on par with fresh grads. so really my increment was like $400+ last FY. I think thats just ok ok, not very impressed by it.
im just kinda depressed cos I have been working 2 years and my lawyer friends have a higher starting than me and my stupid bf (in minstry) earns so much more than me despite having worked for one year only.
But i know im paid decently la, so im not complaining a lot. I just worry about how transferable my skills are, if you can even call them skills.....

your BF also 1st class honours from local university??
u stated that you are getting 4.2k now after 2+ year in statboard
u complain that your BF getting much much more than you while working in ministry for 1 years only...
How much your BF earn?, He 1st class??

3822-3566 = 256
256/3566 = 7.17% annual increment
hei dude;
your annual increment is 7.17% or +$256 , I think is a lot man.
assuming you got constantly 7.17% for consecutively 3 years, mean after 3 years working in your statboard, you will be getting = 3566 x 1.0717^3 = $4390(exclusion of any promotion)!!
after 3 years you will get $4390 which is alot
-----------------------------------------
for me
2nd lower engineering ntu
starting $2900 in GLC
after 3 years with 1 promotion>>I am getting only $339X
come on my $339x is about $150 less than your starting salary!!!

i think you should really change jobs man. But i guess... weigh your priorities.
do you have a family? are you planning to start a family, kids? If yes, then if the new jobs requires a pay cut it would be quite untimely to start the new job.
If you feel like you really have to get out of civil service, then take the plunge and take the paycut. If you dont leave now you will never leave. You know it.
