I'm also interested to find out more as i have just joined the public sector.
I realise that on my contract there isnt any mention of any MX __ grade, but judging from what people have posted here i probably fall in MX12 range.
I was from pte sector, worked 4 years but i guess its irrelevant as the new job scope is totally different.
Where can i find more info about this pay scale used by ministries/stat boards?
all ministry uses MX scale

statboard got their own grade scale

I think you are working in a statboard.
How much they offer you?
you male with NS??, what class of honours??

Yes i did NS. Was offered around 4.3k
Just a 2nd Lower Eng degree ntu. Did Msc while working.

I know someone from the same organization who was from my same ntu batch - he was previously from another stat board. Now 1 grade above mine. Was wondering if i did indeed waste my 4 yrs in my previous job.

Looking at all your pay here, either everyone in the top 20% range are talking here, or I'm super underpaid, but still feeling happy about it. (until I read this...) :s

eh sorry didnt reply earlier. busy the whole week.

anyway, does hi-po mean high potential?

No one ever told me if I am high performing, low performing or if I am even performing at all in my 2+ years here.

my "increment" in part is also due to wage adjustment to stay on par with fresh grads. so really my increment was like $400+ last FY. I think thats just ok ok, not very impressed by it.

im just kinda depressed cos I have been working 2 years and my lawyer friends have a higher starting than me and my stupid bf (in minstry) earns so much more than me despite having worked for one year only.

But i know im paid decently la, so im not complaining a lot. I just worry about how transferable my skills are, if you can even call them skills.....

yah
my 'skills' are cutting and pasting excel data from file to file, translating from word to excel, and spellchecking and grammarchecking emails for bosses. You don't even need graduates, let alone scholars, for this kind of work. While my friends are all developing professional skills valued by the industry, I wasted 5 years becoming a menial work drone.
