Will it make any difference (any advantages etc) if you have a govt scholarship but it is not under the new govt agency you’re joining?

I benefited from the 1G - 2G PAP leaders, back then education good, Singaporeans can go uni, and we got good jobs. We serve NS as bros with our fellow Malay and Indian Singaporeans happy, cause we know we defending our family.

Today, I see news of CECA, I see news of discrimination in jobs.

My son, next time already lose 2 years and need serve reservist NOT Enough, he still need to fight job discrimination caused by CECA.
His Pink IC, PR convert can get without serving NS.

He next time serve NS, I don't know he defending who when half of SG not even our own ppl.

nope didnt get.
but i think its kind of unfair. MAC is mean for engineer as part of their package.
by cutting MAC, engineer pay cut.
but other staff who are not entitled with MAC didnt have ang pay cut

does it mean that only engineers need to bear the bad economic outlook?
not to forgot most engineers are also essential service staff and are working on the ground, not management staff

a fairer means will be to cut pay say 5% across the board or cut PB across the board instead of removing MAC which is only for a portion of the employee

MAC, as the name suggests, is adjusted based on Market performance. Given that the market is doing badly, just be happy that there is no cut to the base pay. Instead, I feel that the MAC should be a negative component and be cut against the basic wages for engineers. In good years you get more, lousy years your pay should be cut. That's fairer.

s://.straitstimes.com/singapore/manpower/mas-urges-financial-institutions-to-groom-local-leaders-and-grow-singaporean

Further to MAS's call to boost local Singaporean headcount in finance, the government must also retract the encroachment of CECA in the following core Singaporean pillars of society:
- Engineering.
- IT.
- Accounting.
- Medical.

Or else all the experienced Singaporean staff will be flushed to the drain thanks to skill-no-future courses and blindness of the ministers in charge.

lucky i am on specialised scheme, the part of the bonus equivalence to mac is already merged into my base pay. i will not be affected as long as there is no pay cut.

if there is, still EVERYONE will cut together which is fair.
suggest you look for opportunity at other agencies or min that offer specialised scheme for your expertise.

btw, i am from IT in GovTech.

yup, actually this is my last MAC before transferring to another agency who offer specialised scheme with bulit-in higher base pay.

anyway, HR told me MAC is not 100% cancel yet, it is just postpone to end of the year. I can still proceed to transfer as plan and it will not affect the payout.
