good analogy. agree that the elite should bear higher consequences during time of crisis. well said!

Unhappy

does it mean that only engineers need to bear the bad economic outlook?
not to forgot most engineers are also essential service staff and are working on the ground, not management staff[/QUOTE]

Agree with this. Really unfair that most of us engineers are working tirelessly some even on site during cb period and didn't receive our MAC. It was introduced as a form of retaining specialised skills in IT, engineering etc. and by not giving won't it defeats the purpose in retaining these skills? I foresee a number of engineers leaving due to this.

anyway, HR told me MAC is not 100% cancel yet, it is just postpone to end of the year. I can still proceed to transfer as plan and it will not affect the payout.
Good for you then. If so what's the point of coming this forum to post so much about non-payment of MAC? Too free ah? Lol.

Someone said it was only deferred? You said not receiving anything? Are you telling the truth?

As mentioned by another guy, you are free to quit if you feel that the compensation is too low. The fact that most of the engineers are staying shows that the current compensation package is adequate to retain them. So why should govt pay?

To advise better, could you let us know your age, whether you served NS, local/pte/overseas University for degree and last drawn pay.

My view is that it's decent and nothing out of norm. You should also compare the yearly package vs previous job for better comparison.
