Actually it is quite possible. I'm 27, and i save about $50k per annum. Over 20 years, I would make $1m. Of course that's assuming that my expenses and salary do not grow.

Then again, it is purely on savings. I'm still weighing in on investment and the risks involved. So i think a daring investor could make $5m by 40-50yo?

Agree?

You must have been a high flyer investment banker.

Those days were crazy days, rushing early in the morning, stuck in traffic, rushing from one meeting to another, flying from one city to another, rain or shine.

But it was worth it as the hard work enables me to earn a fortune. I had plenty of cash to invest. My many years of investments paid off extremely well. I'm now happily retired, my passive income from investments easily sustains my family. They are enjoying a good life too - living in a nice condo, going overseas holidays, driven around in a car, enjoying good food at restaurants, etc.

As a multi millionaire, I'm still busy, busy managing and growing my wealth, busy pursuing the many interests I had no time for previously, busy taking good care of my family, busy spending time with my very old parents and busy volunteering at charities and non profit organisations. Life is more meaningful and fulfilling. I'm healthier and happier.

In life, you have to make tough choices. Choose the wrong career and you can be working all your life. There are people who did not enjoy a single day of retirement. They died before they retired. That's sad.

Choose the right high paying career, work hard, be the best in your field, invest well and become a multi millionaire. You can then afford to retire early and enjoy a full life.

You have a serious mental problem. I lost count of the number of times you posted all these retirement bullcraps in this thread.

Go and see a psychiatrist asap please.

You also do not understand the thread title. You need to seek an English teacher asap too.

Maybe there is something in your brain. Go and do a brain MRI please. Seriously, you are not normal.

Husband early to mid 30's and Wife is 30 with one child
Single Income with household income around 125k pa
Job is quite stable. As a junior level manager in a MNC.

Currently staying at a 450k - 470k HDB flat with 250k loan

Would like to know if I should upgrade to EC (<750k) now?

I'm 28 and I have a savings of $50k pa (one source of income). I think your wife and you would need to assess your expenditure? $40k pa savings on a $193k pa income seems too low.
