If my guess is correct, then perhaps the "top universities" which you are refering to may just be applied in the India sub-continent. I would suggest you to suppress your typical indian ego-out-from-nothing and explore outside your circle of awareness. Hopefully, you will get awake from perceving yourselves as being the "best" when you truly meet the best from MITs or any other Ivies.
he could be from China.

With 7 years experience I earn 55K/year including everything.

My wife is among the top 1% student from my country with a degree that I don't want to reveal to keep our identities unknown as much as possible. She is doing research (!) and earning 24K/year.

I share HDB with another family. And at the end of month I have very little to save.

We are so called FTs. We think we are big losers.

Of course we are very frustrated. But we don't have many options open.
If you are the best in the industry, you won't end up with 55k/year, you are earning this amount either because you think you are the best but you are not, or you are the best, but someone else took your credit.

A general rule...
if you are the best in any industry, you will be rich, but may not be the richest...
if you are the second best, then better find the best industry...
the best people are those who will technical skills and can market themselves well...

sounds you are still young, plenty of time for you to explore....and surely you will succeed if you are really the BEST...

Typical Asian thinking.
1. I am no 1 in my class, therefore my salary should be the highest.
2. I graduated from the top universities, therefore everyone should kow tow to me.

In this era where you can just google, you'll notice that 50 percent of CEOs in the United States including many from S&P 500 do not graduate from the top schools i.e. Ivies. In Asia, the percentage is even higher.

In order to get to the very top of your profession:
1. Luck
2. Luck
3. Skill, hardwork and the willingness to do whatever it takes, including marketing, networking, playing office politics and backstabbing your opponents. If you are not willing to do this, just be content with your life.

The above is true no matter where you are. If you are from China then you should know Guan Xi is number 3,4,5 after luck and if you are from India then it should be the same. Bitching about reality does not change anything, it's just a waste of time.

Default Average Pay for Local Uni Grad

Let's say for a Local University Grad with either Business or Accountancy degree, who has been in the workforce for about 12 years, what's the average package per annum these folks are getting?

100k?
120k?
150k?
200k or more?

I know there are some in banks, front line, middle office or back office, some as AVP, VP, some in audit, some in MNC as CFO etc. What I am asking here is a general average baseline benchmark for the profile above, across all different roles....

Any inputs?

Maybe you can ask your university for some statistics.

For general "degree holder", 5-6k a month seems to be the norm, based on my interpretation of some old numbers here:
Degree holder – is your Income above the Median? | Salary.sg - Your Salary in Singapore

So, I would say about 80-100k range should be alright.

How much are you earning?

Thanks, I'm getting about 1.5-2 times of the above, depending whether its a good year or not.

Seem like if I benchmark myself against salary.sg, it make you very please to know that you are above the median, but if you gather the feedback here, makes you less please to know that you are really falling behind the 200k+, 300k+ earners in your age group or younger.

So really, I wonder if salary.sg is understating or is this forum overstating.....

Omg. I think you are just another show-off here in this forum. If you wanna hao lian, say so. Don't have to ask a question in a roundabout way only to eventually reveal your fat pay package. What a show-off.
