Which industries are you both working in?
Is your current condo fully paid up?
How much cash do you have?
What's your total current net worth?
How old are you both?

If they are willing to take the risk, then they should proceed and they should not blame anyone whatever the consequences. We are all adults.
Why do you keep questioning the stability of their jobs. Of course, anything can happen. It's about the possibility of a worst-case scenario happening. If everyone thinks of the worst, there will be no such thing as a mortgage. Everyone will be using cash to buy a property.

It is important to determine how stable their high paying jobs are as they are depending on their jobs to finance their huge mortgage of $1m.

Ma de this sounds like a local bank commercial tagline. I seem to see this commercial when I was queuing up to withdraw cash.

From what I understand, you could be looking at $2800-$3500 as basic salary excluding the allowances/profit sharing commission or other form of incentives based on performances of the department assigned that's usually pecked in the remuneration package. Data online shows annual income of around SGD$50k for the job position, hope this helps in your consideration of the offer.
