Indeed, there are people in this forum who are jealous of the achievement of others. They try to console themselves, for their own under achievement, by saying those successful ones as liars, etc.

Let me share you my story.

I was a top gangster in the drug industry. I worked hard, got promoted and made good money. Sad to see this popular forum being hijacked by some childish person or persons. Can we go back to sharing so that others can benefit? Ok, let me start.

48, 49, couple (one grad and one diploma), total income $140k pa. Sold our hdb flat in 2003 and upgraded to a condo, which we bought for $500k. Did not take much loan as we use the sales proceeds from our hdb flat sale plus our savings to pay for condo. Now the condo is fully paid up. Now we are starting to grow our CPF accounts slowly.

Our condo is now worth $900k and our combined net worth (condo, cash and CPF accounts) is estimated to be $1.4m.

Can the financial gurus here (only those with experience in the finance sector, please) advise how we can grow our wealth and prepare for retirement? Honestly, we don't know much about investments (we work in a technical line). We are lucky that we upgraded to a condo at the right time, not because we know how to predict property prices but just that the condo price was attractive at that time and we have the means to upgrade after selling our flat. Thank you.

I rather retire in small MM condo in Woodlands than in a JB bungalow.

Monthly incoming cashflow
Job Salary - 8.5 K per month
Property MGMT firm (owned) - 10 - 12 K per month
Rental from personal properties - 11 K per month

Monthly Outgoing cashflow
Household + Mortgages + Taxes, MCST etc etc etc - 15K - 17K outgoings monthly

Debt
Loans from bank - 2.34M
Loans from parents - 650K
