What a joke these civil servants. High achievers are thinking of how to make the 2nd or 3rd year bonus, normal people are speculating whether the company pay 3 month or 4 month bonus.

Here we have all these civil servants squabbling over whether its 0.4/0.45/0.5/0.55/0.6 month bonus. They will claim there are just doing this for fun and its their right to do, but it just goes to show how narrow minded and money driven these 'servants' are.

Private sector people are so busy that they have to come here and comment. Lol.

Normal people are worried about whether they still have a job next year. Don't get cocky because we are now entering an employer's market. Your high pay only means you are "part" of the companies' money problems.

Actually what is wrong when discussing our bonus here? Isn't this what this forum is for? Those in private sector get your so-called great bonuses during good times but 'cry wolf' when they get retrenched due to economic crisis. We don't get high bonuses but at least have an iron rice bowl. I don't think it should be affecting you in any way unless you are jealous of some benefits of the civil service. You rice bowl is yours to defend and ours is ours. In short, I'm saying "Mind Your Own Damn Business!"

I don't think there is anything wrong in speculating the year-end bonus. After all, this thread IS dedicated to the discussion of the incoming year-end bonus. Sure the participants are speculating on the quantum, down to the 0.1 month variations. But that is because the year-end bonus is only within the range of 0.1 - 1.0 month.

Obviously the PB come April is in magnitude of months. That is why people in this thread do not talk about it, for now. And those in Public Service also do not talk about PB much, because it is pretty black and white; what performance grade you get and which grade you are currently on pretty much sums up the amount (in months) you will get. There is hardly any deviation.

To the poster who jest about participants bickering about this "petty sum", the world economy is not looking good, while cost of living has not gone down. Everyone working is worried about their finances. So why berate one another?
