How u chiong 100 hr per week?
Travelling takes time
Clinic also need lunch and dinner break. Few clinic open before 8am.
Now no CTF.
Unless u take overnight 12 hours shift at those 24 hour clinic
Or be the India Indian doctor I knew who did Changi a&e 12 hour shift 28 days a months

1 day u squeeze 11 to 12 hours max as locum.
1 week also 84 hours max.
do 4 weeks probably burnt out liao.

34 quite young.
Why so gan cheong.
Only 1 life and u want to spend your glorious 30s working no day no night?
Enjoy the ride.
Work normal hours, find a nice girl to romance
Polylinic pharmacy lots of cute pharm tech

Say u stay ops and retire at 62 in a career that is sustainable
U just a famer and Ur average annual is 250k becuase toward the end of your career u likely making close to 300k
That's 7 million life time earnings.

U can try to chiong locum very high intensity.
Let's say u can really do 80 hours a week , at 100 an hour
That's 32k a month or 360k a year.
Assume u very good and chiong for 10 years. That's only 3.6 millio
Then for the next 18 years u settle down into a normal GP job that gives u 180k a year
That's another 3.2 mil
Overall still lose to the farmer.
Farmer also have time to find a wife, get married, 30 days annual leave and what not.

Yada u gonna say u will invest the 3.6 million earlier and blar blar so overall u will come out tops.
Trust me ah, when u make 30k a month, u will spend more one.
All the more when u work so hard for money, u want to enjoy.
And given Ur impetuous nature, u likely to anyhow invest

Really finding it hard to be happy. (Not sure if this is called mid life crisis..)
You overspend is it?
Quit drinking pls.
Don’t go on holiday

120k cash is very sad. Confirm u overspend
Unless you paid for your own 500k uk such fees.

Have u observed how enrolled nurses eat?
They packed food from home. Hosp food very ex.
Basically u need to conduct an interview with enrolled nurse and junior psa and understand their spending habit and learn from it.

Then pls don’t take grab or taxi.
Buy concession pass $128 per mth.
Unlimited mrt and bus rides.

I am just curious, if one decided to come back to public after spending years in private, how is their pay calculated?
Can apply to both specialist or FP setting.
Take ops for example, if one pass mmed at 30, then decided to go private for next 15 years (maybe chiong locum, then join grp/set up clinic).
At 45, he decided to close shop and come back ops for simple 8-5 job (i.e farmer la - as prob earn enough and essentially waiting retirement), how is their pay calculated? They probably will get a different offer compared to when they were 30 (when they 1st pass mmed right? )

?
For a specialist yo leave in the first place, they usually quite senior
Ah bo go out where got business. Just one of the many shops at novenna medical center.
Usually when Indonesian clients start to book private appointment with u, can consider going out liao.
This kind come back is to set up service that kind.
It's usually not for money.

System don't hire back gp
For FP it will be those v senior ones
With fcfp and usually v active with college.
Ktph when setup got Dr Micheal wong hire back as senior consultant
And become vice chairman medical board
Now he doing some regional health thing.

Yes you and your hubby have done well.
But maybe things are harder for younger generation of drs?
Property is a lot mire expensive now.
15 years ago still can buy condo 600k
Now is 1m.
Meanwhile salaries havent doubled for drs.
Your own kids, you wouldnt advise them to be GPs?

My salary now 6.5k (starting was 4.9k), give parents 2k mthly since work. But I also spend 800 per mth on all insurance and 500 on one ILP.
So left 3.2 for myself lo. On top of that also spend quite a bit on exams. Did mrcp, gdfm and doing mmed in Nov.
Spend close to 10k on mrcp (coz failed paces once, so extra cost for 2nd attempt which I passed), and another 10k for gdfm. Hence not much cash lo
