This op here dumb af sia.

That poster clearly saying salary is a good indicator of one’s value and that prestige is relative to each individual. Then this dude here come and argue on salary like hello aren’t you saying the same as what the op was referring to?

Is strategy roles in banks good? Better than any of the consulting firms?

I work in a tier 2 and know people in strategy&. Deals strategy in SEA officially falls under pwc. Strategy& is another team on its own. Although a lot of deals strat people put strategy& on their linkedin. In some other parts of the world, they have merged, but not here. So if you transferred over to SG its no surprise u would continue using the brand.

Pay difference is stark. From glassdoor:
Assoc - 4.5 vs 7
Senior assoc - 5.5 vs 12

My advice - try to get other tier-2s …

The pick of the lot. Yeah, ACN does a lot of tech implementation work for govies, not strategy - your point being? And most followers on LinkedIn = best??? Walao eh, don’t make us laugh leh pls. By that logic, MBB lose to ACN liao.

Actually I can understand why ppl would put as strategy& cos the job description itself put it under strategy& and even the case interview invites subject state “Strategy& Deals Strategy”.

In fact, the hiring rounds are the same for those under strategy& that’s not deals stratefy.

So all I can say is that they expect high quality candidates by having same hiring process but yet pay lesser

Lollll say until only one acn employee in this thread lmao.

You really have no logic, since when did op mention MBB worst than acn lmao dumb ass.

You are a wannabe consulting who probs got rejected by acn even, let alone say any other consulting firms would even look at your application.

personally got a few tech friends in accenture, yeah pay sucks and WLB is **** but they left after 1-2 years for 20-30% higher pay with better WLB

its worth it imo. better than joining some trash company and getting 0 interviews because recruiters dunno wtf company u work for. If you settle for a company with lower pay, your next job’s pay won’t be much higher cos it’s tough for you to negotiate
This is a consulting thread - we are comparing Accenture with other consulting companies. Big 4 strat arms (EYP, S&, MD) > Accenture Strat/Consulting. No debate, easy choice (unless you wish to do tech consulting).

Yes there’s also management consulting and strategy in Accenture, it’s not just tech consulting. And yes comparing it with other big 4, if you were to compare with normal consulting in big 4 and not the strategy side (as per this thread title), the obvious ans to pick for consulting regardless or tech or mgmt consulting in acn vs any other consulting (other than strategy) in big 4, acn is the sure win.

If you compare acn strategy to big 4 strategy then yes acn doesn’t have a strong element in this area. So you got to compare Apple to Apple, and not comparing one company’s consulting to another’s strategy.

And also the culture and perks.

Thanks!

Strategy arms of big 4 (strategy&, monitor Deloitte, ey Parthenon) defo better. But if you’re saying just big 4 (PwC, EY, Kpmg, Deloitte) side, their consulting (mgmt, tech, risk, finance, etc etc) aren’t that good. Pay not good, perks not good, brand name not as good as it’s own strategy arm and compared to others.

So if get offer from big 4 strategy arms, of cos all will choose it. But if it’s just the normal big 4 offering consulting roles, then it’s the last consideration honestly, cos going to acn consulting or even business analyst is still better than the normal consulting under big 4 in terms of pay, brand name, projects.

I think the previous op who mention big 4 consulting is referring to the normal big 4 and not their strategy arms…. While others who mention big 4 it’s their strategy arm. So shld just be clear lo.
