Any suggestions on how to move from local practice to intl firms (disputes)? Checked the website (careers section) and they always don't list availability. Is it only through connections or must you email the partners directly?

Get on linkedin, wait for recruiters to call. If you don't get called, the problem is your qualifications / firm. The latter is adjustable if you try hard enough, too bad you're stuck with the first
