What even is this question, is this a troll question? Why would a JD be paid differently? Lmao.

Employability might be a factor but there isn't a direct difference.

Err no? Doesn't JD just mean you changed your career

From your questions I assume either

You are a troll; or

You are thinking of a mid career switch after watching Suits.

Don't

Thanks for ur advice.
Sorry but I am not troll
am a law school student from civil law country wanting to join a MC Singapore Office. I can apply for a US llm/JD to obtain a NY bar or apply NUS JD for SG bar (Sure latter is much cheaper ). Just wonder which one would be a better choice .

Hmm, to be honest, NUS JD is a good option if you get a First Class Honours or you get a 2.1 and have around 2 years PQE. You likely won't get white shoe without a first as a newly qualified lawyer, but the rest are fair game after 2 PQE at a reputable firm. You'll get white shoe never without a First Class Honours unless you came from the Magic Circle.

For better prospects I would suggest you try the US schools as you will have the option of working in the States and then transfer to SG laterally or apply to SG directly.

The White Shoes are typically but not invariably more 'elitist' than the Magic Circle. They hire from the Magic Circle, though.

To be realistic, NUS JD you'll likely end up in Big 4 at best as an NQ with a 2.1

If this is the case employability should not be an issue, a lot of firms want part of the private wealth pie. Best if you have some contacts who wanna move money out your home country into sg. Lol
