Lawyer Salary

I found mine through jobstreet and monster websites.

In-house role, electronics industry. Salary 20 percent higher than a NQ in practicing.


LOL so funny so many people also never got retained yet still come office early and leave close to mid night. I work past 8 pm daily for last 4 month yet just keep getting scolded.

So happy that I am leaving by 6 pm now and a decent job waiting for me out there.

For those who want to make a move, it may be too late to apply now.

Is that really all that bad? At least you get a 6 month job hunting buffer time and a brand name firm on your CV. You can also spin some rubbish about how you want to change to a new practice area yada yada in interviews.

Law firms are notoriously prestige driven.

Once you start out in a brand name firm, your career trajectory is generally better even if you did next to nothing but punch holes and do other glorified secretarial tasks. On the other hand, even if you started out doing really substantive work in a small firm, very few big firms are going to give you a second look.

FML so much for prestige.
Monday and I worked till 2am. sleep 4 hours and back to office again.

I am only a trainee. Not getting retained either. Why the --- I worked so hard for? Actually I am too timid to speak out.

Do not worry I say. Cos in the end, even if a person gets retained, ultimately burnout in the profession is real. Ppl quit.

I know that a certain JLV in MBFC is not retaining everyone
