you're clearly not in industry yet.
if you were, you would know that DRD is a swiss verein. means each member firm in each country has different profit pools.
they are no where as prestigious as true internationally integrated firms like CC/Cavenagh and B&M W&L despite slapping on the Dentons name. goes without saying that pay is going to be the same too.
remember that more than half of Dentons 7500++ lawyer headcount are also from china. make of that what you will.
those slightly senior would remember a time when the rapidly expanding DLA Piper was the largest by headcount and was being feted in the legal press to Venus and back as the next big rising behemoth. I wonder how that has worked out now hmmm

Even the Audit Big Four are getting into legal services in Singapore as well. Anyone know anything about them? I know EY and PWC have associated law firms in Singapore.

"News of the bonus cuts at Rodyk comes the week after the firm announced its intention to combine with Dentons, subject to approval by a partnership vote. The firms will not be financially integrated."

Read in papers they are going to regulate the training contract. How's this supposed to be done?

No idea. May a central portal for graduates to lodge their requests for TC and firms to post their TC places available?
This is idealistic bordering ridiculous. They are now hammering the declining retention rate now. Asking trainees to be retained by paralegal? I rather quit and look for non legal sector really. Asking law firms to be less profit driven? I don't know how.
First they have a Committee to increase supply of lawyers, now they have one to look at oversupply.

Yeah the numbers will be on the "international scale" if they're in ringgit
Don't talk cock la. Rodyk isn't even matching the big 4
And referring to yourself as a Dentons associate is damn pretentious. Unless you were hired by the entity that used to be called 'SNR Denton' in London. Otherwise just stick to rodyk and you'll not be laughed at.
