why is m&a so popular amongst law students? is there any reason as to why this department is so competitive in comparison to others?

not sure about the competitiveness but m&a/gen corp is the broadest practice area and is most relevant outside of practice.

Only the paralegals with FCH from kings are, yeah.

Got paralegals in international firms earn close to 10000 and their lives v shiok one billing target is 50hrs a month good good good

i think corporate (in the sense of non-disputes) work generally has more relevance outside of practice than disputes. Then within corporate, general corporate / m&a would have the most relevance _in general_ because it can touch on many areas of law.

banking/finance is probably narrower than gen corp / m&a. But I think yes it's very transferable internationally (esp in private practice); but even then not all economies / cities / towns have such a heavy finance presence like SG (or the other beloved cities of SG lawyers).

just my 2c from what i hear from others.
