Is $3000 (after-tax) really enough for Singapore? What do you guys think the approx. values for the following items should be?
Rent:
Utilities:
Meals:
Public Transport:
Insurance:
Entertainment:
Savings:
CPF:
Wouldn't $3000 be too tight for a single person living alone?
Quote:
Parents Allowance = $400
Household Bills = $300
Meals = $250
Transport = $90 (ez link card)
Insurance = $100
Entertainment (Drinking, chilling out, watch movies) = $560
Savings per month = $700

Assuming single, still stay with parents, give them allowances, no loans, no car.

that's quite comfortable for a young graduate. salary will increase as you gain expertise and marketable skills. wealth will increase as you save and invest (i recommend property and stay away from stocks)
my wife and i used to earn $3K basic each, but after 15 years we now earn $30K combined in banking industry (excluding bonus)
our net worth from $0 starting to $300K after 5 years, $1.8M after 10 years and $3M after 15 years.
