Hierachy for jap banks: Clerk, Senior Clerk, Officer, Senior Officer, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, Manager, Senior Manager, AGM, DGM, GM.
But heard they are going to copy foreign banks and slowly going to phase out the clerk and senior clerk role. So whether you ITE, Poly or Fresh grad all start at officer next time

I don't think there is a deputy manager title. AFAIK if you are a fresh diploma holder you join as officer and for degree holder you join as either analyst or assistant manager (depends on department / unit) followed by manager. For support roles some managers don't even get $5k. Jap banks pay system is quite different.
China banks especially the big 4 are definitely more progressive and closer to local banks in terms of pay & culture compare to Jap banks. The Jap banks have been trying to change for the past 10 years by hiring management level pros from western banks, but the problem is most of these new hires never last long. In the end the nationalist mentality and promote from within Jap community is so strong that many give up in the end.

Dy Manager still have for some old timers, but nowadays seldom in use. For most jap banks a degree holder join stay long enough promotion from AM to M to SM is more or less guaranteed if no major screw up.

This whole thread already tell you the story of how jap banks are in terms of jobs, career and pay prospects, what else do you need? If it's that question about whether you can move to FO in the future then the answer is the same as any bank: possible in theory but very rare in practice.

The answer is NO. Unless you have a degree from Harvard! Else, no point. If I were u, I will not even consider this bank! I rather you go into very junior position for the role that you are seeking for, moreover life sucks in structured finance department!
