For those that worked hard in school and excelled, they have the luxury of choices.
For those that didn't, better put in hard work to achieve any kind of luxury.

Long hours but the culture may differ ma. I heard certain rumors regarding the big 4 and just want to confirm the differences. Just like EY offers off in lieu but Deloitte don't. So I want to find out more about each company before diving in.

You should just apply all 4 & see what you get, skali cannot even get any offer. Understand where you stand. You are not a star performer or scholar, they are choosing you, not the other way round.

I have thought about joining the Big 4 but the incentives are really bad. Any other suggestions?

If your results are average, dun tink u can get into top notch big 4. Join other reputable audit firms, work hard for 2 years and try apply big 4 again and see if you can climp up the 4 big ships.

you can, unless you are from some pseudo uni like sim. then they wont consider you.

even if you only graduate with a pass, the big 4 will still take you. lack of accountants with proper qualifications.

Pass degrees entering Deloitte or PWC? That would be interesting. Maybe some industry professionals can verify this

Sometimes if too many vacancies can, but definitely not normal. Deloitte & EY usually standards lower, but PWC & KPMG I don't think they will accept pass only.

Not really teekam. Their usual way of hiring is let's say they have 50 vacancies, they will offer about 80-100 people usually ranking them by academics & some qualitative factors.

Usually the top 20% people are not interested in big 4, they will just reject straight away. The remaining some will just drag & hope for other better offers outside big4 to come along. Slowly this group will also reject until the remaining 50 people are the ones that accept & confirm start work.

Base on my observation big4 usually gets the 50 to 70 percentile (between average & above average) of any cohort of fresh grads from the local uni. Below average they not interested, too good the candidates themself not interested.
