Career prospect of biomedical engineers...

Hi. Would like to listen to feedback and opinions from ppl working as biomedical engineers in pharma coys. I heard the starting salary is good @ around 3.2k and with OT can earn even more. However, was told that career prospect is limited and even for principal biomedical engineers also around 7k?
