Female,23,Sim-UOL Biz Management Degree student here. Haha.

My last paper was on the 21st May 2014.
So i have been jobless for almost 2 months already. Officially a fresh-grad once my results are out in upcoming Mid-aug.

My current mindset is to rest/slack for awhile happily, doing the things i love(yet to send any resume) but everyone is asking me why am i not motivated etc. This made me feel like i am useless because while everyone is busy hunting for jobs, i am slacking like a queen. Should i start looking for job already? I am afraid that once i start, i can't stop. This is my only chance to rest and once i secured a job, i will need to push myself forever already.

Btw, Management degree can work in the HR dept?
Can. Actually HR dept allow any discipline. I used to work in HR dept with arts degree. But are you already deciding your career doing HR?

You can always rest while sending resumes, maybe one or two a day. But do not drag too long. My friend can't find any job for two years becos he slack too much after grad.

I think two key qns to qns properly
Employment gap
Career goal
I didn't do anything productive, just slack. Getting sick of this lifestyle and uncertainty.

I will just try to justify why I'm interested in the particular jobscope.

Guys, once you are out of the job market for a while, the inertia gets very great. This translates to gaps in your CV that most employers do not like to see.

Taking on a temp or contract job is a good way to fill that gap. (Just don't list multiple temp jobs in a short period of time). You may not get the pay that you want or deserve but it is a good way to stay in your industry.

Otherwise, sign up for a medium-to-long course where you can pick up extra skills relevant to your work. Or even add-on skills in IT, management, accounting or marketing. This will tell your potential employer that you did not waste your time sitting at home watching Korean drama.

In the worst case, do some free work for a relative or friend who runs a business. Even if you work there only 2 times a week, it looks as if you had a proper job and that you picked up some entrepreneurial tips along the way.

U mean fill the resume with temp job?
But wad if u r actively looking job n have interviews so oni do part time.
N part time is v irrelevant to the job u r looking.

Showing your temp or part-time jobs in your CV is not ideal but it is better than emptiness and having to explain why you did not even try.

But I would say try to get temp jobs that are more relevant to your real job search. Eg. I came across this lady's CV that covers healthcare, beauty, sales, admin, church work etc etc. I found it really confusing and felt I did not even want to interview her because I have the impression she does not know what she wants.

In reality, a lot of temp or contract jobs are admin-related. So let us say a fresh grad wants to get into finance or banking. Temp jobs in a stock broking firm or an insurance company is still relevant.
