Sorry to hear that. I think we are still not recovering well from the downturn of economy. I had an interview yesterday as well. But I felt like the HR was just going through the motion doing her work looking for candidates rather than to actual hiring.

been jobless since Aug. Been sending job applications since then. Either rejections or no replies. Feeling very desperate at the moment and feeling really sucks as I stay at home everyday. Now looking to give tuition classes to get some cash. Lucky I don't have a family yet else I will be really stressed. Any seniors here care to share their experience?

Don't be disheartened. If it helps, you are not alone.
Dont't lose self-esteem and stay positive. Take up jobs, assignments, even if they do not help you financially.
This motivating article about how a 50+ year old engineer was jobless for a year, and he was eventually hired. Not sure if I can paste URL here, but simply google professional-conversion-engineering-to-logistics-through-pcp to find the article to keep yourself motivated.
All the best.

don't give up! if I may suggest, don't just wait idly by for results from that company—hiring plans are fluid and they're not obliged to get back to you/advance you to the next stage. reach out to your contacts/network/alumni through any platform you have access to.
if it's of any consolation to you—I've applied to more than 120 jobs since last December and gone for at least 20 interviews, without a single offer till date. I have an MBA from a top 3 global B school with 5 years of experience.
many of the good jobs here are given to foreigners/PRs. it's a free pass here for them and much easier for Europeans/Americans/Australians to find a job here than the other way around for us. most of the big corporations/MNCs here also prefer to hire them.
however, you have the power to do something about this come 10 July. make it count!
