similar to universities status

Tech companies:
ihis = private uni
Microsoft, apple = harvard

Which will future employers prefer to hire from?
commonsense it is a very realistic world ......

By this self imposed yardstick, of course IHIS will fall short.
MSF and APPLE are listed companies with global client base, IHIS is private company set up to support SG healthcare.
Different markets, different motives.
Sure, you can say common denominator is they are tech enablers, but is really apple vs orange comparisons.

By this yardstick, IHIS has a different market and motive from other global companies and therefore is in a league of its own , will undoubtedly guarantee its talent drain will continue freefall as the rest of the companies compete to ensure they attract and retain the best talent.

hope new ceo can bring about positive change to this company.

the future of healthcare tech is supposed to be exciting and invigorating

Probably you are an insider, current staff else why you care?

The time for small scale proof of concept is over, now is the time for real world implementation, that is why need to reorg. In the past, all the money spent for showcase projects now must be justified for concrete results. ROI, need to talk dollar and cents.

Singapore population rapidly aging, now the ramp up is to meet future demand, when patient population is going to grow faster than healthcare staff. Expect to do more next time, either work smart or need to work harder next time. Now get to work, dun laze around here

After reading most of the available online reviews by IHIS staff, i can summarise as below:

Pro/Con:
- Experience with company depends on your department / team

Pros:
- Relatively good salary/ bonus
- Relatively good benefits
- Interesting projects and initiatives with meaningful social consequences

Cons:
- bureaucratic, with some claiming middle management CMI
- political , favoritism
- already many rounds of reorg
- long working hours with heavy workload, burnt weekends / holidays, no time to take off-in-lieu
- paperwork / compliance make simple things complicated

Any insider can advise on whether above are still true? and which are changed?

is better than other industry as it is tech based. but typically worse off then the big tech companies.

People who are well qualified will likely choose to work in the big tech firms such as google or facebook

Exclamation they don't use git, they use subversion lol

Dealt with IHIS a few years back. They were implementing a proposed system within healthcare -- basically a specialised database for my team (keeping it vague to not doxx myself) that would be administered by them.

Not liking this but having no choice because I needed the system to scale across multiple users, I asked if we could at least get version control on this little server.

The answer was that they COULD do it but it would be subversion, is that ok.

I quit shortly afterwards. Asked around and know absolutely no one not using git now.
