more importantly, you get to be involved in important deals and transactions as compared to being one of the many employees in a MNC. i think i have learnt more about business in the past 5 months i have been working as compared to the 3 years doing my RMIT BMgt degree.

Guys i think it all depends.. not sure abt rmit.. but UOW is a recognised degree in the IT industry.. means if u have a UOW deg easier to find jobs in IT sector with a $3k starting salary.. saw anothr forum abt UOW deg, most of them fresh grad with only pasd deg earning $3k starting.. plus have a friend with UOW pass deg work in ministry it dept earning $3.2.. UOW is surely a good option for those who are keen in the IT side

Spent a year working something totally out of the way
reason: need money and some work exp
- is not completely 'irrelevant' from my studies just a lot of people wont agree with me and they def wont take the job either due to extremely peanut pay and no OT pay and no benefits or anything else.
- think of it as a student job. was there for a year due to personal reasons which i shall not elaborate.
After months of looking managed to get 2 offers, but i went with the one offering 3.2k basic (not including benefits yet). and i'm from UOW, pass deg. i count myself lucky as my peers all say they got around 2.8k but that was last year.
basically if u have 0 work exp, is very hard to secure interviews unless you're a high-flyer meaning good grades. once u have a job to support yourself for time being, the interviews will slowly come. as to whether u get the offer, is another story. just have to keep looking la and don't spend so much time dwelling on whether u will get the job or not. no call? move on to the next.

Apologies for the late reply. While I was working in my organisation (was on a diploma scale) I took up part time SIM-RMIT degree. So when I finished I managed to get on the degree scale (mx13- fresh grad degree pay scale)
