Help
Hi guys,
I would like to go into C&B or somewhere in HR with a bright future (in terms of money).
However i dont quite know how to get there.
Ive a business management degree with RMIT and some years of different working experience. Regarding HR ive only one year of HR generalist experience working in an SME. I basically do all the functions of HR here but im not exactly learning and I dont wanna waste my time any longer cause im not young anymore.
Any advise?

Brightest future in HR is C&B and HRBP. But they also hardest to get in. Either have to join major management consultancies or start from big banks/mncs management program. RMIT sure can't get in one.
Better spend the next 8-10 years building up HR generalist experience in SMEs or bigger local listed companies. Much more realistic goal.

Do you know how much will be the pay range for being a generalist for 8-10 years?

For a decent sized local co. should be able to pay about 4.5-5.5k

For a start, stop writing like a HWZ semi-illiterate.

I am currently a HRBP in a one of the big local GLCs with more than 20 years HR experience and heard a lot of people mentioning Cultural and Diversity COE as the next big “in” thing in the HR world. An ex-colleague doing recruitment told me a lot of MNCs are hiring specialists in this area at 350k+ total package.
I don’t have the required C&D experience per se, but am willing to move into a culture / diversity role on the same pay (currently 250k inclusive of bonus & allowance) if the opportunity for growth is there as I really want to try out something new but yet related to HR.
Anyone has tips to share on how to position my CV and what are the competencies and skillsets they usually look for?

This whole thread is complete crap by people who are not from HR! I am a HRBP in Breadtalk with total 14 years experience in the HR industry, all the HRBPs are only paid 4 - 6k range. I dont know why all the people here are just spreading lies. Maybe they just want to create false impression to make others envy but I can tell you from my own experience so many years in HR that all this rubbish about if you become a specialist HRBP or C&B or L&D pay is very high is completely false!

That's because the scale and the nature of the business is different. I work as a compensation specialist and $10-$20k for senior HRBPs and C&B Managers is very common in MNCs.

No offence, but I highly doubt a local retail bread chain would have HR specialists. Your name card may say you are a business partner, but the question is do you really know what business partnering is all about?
4-6k is the range for junior HR Associates in global companies, I suspect your title is very inflated and you are basically just a operations manager doing things like recruitment, payroll, training schedules etc. You might want to start asking around proper HR professionals from big names before making a fool of yourself.
It's a different world out there compared to small medium local companies.
